The shop is new. The experience behind it is not: close to ten years buying and trading gold, first in London, then in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, and now over the counter in Leicester.

Where it started: buying and trading gold business-to-business, learning what metal is really worth from people who deal in it every day rather than from a price list.

Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter
The Quarter is where gold is actually dealt in this country — a square mile of workshops, assayers and dealers that has been at it for two hundred years. Trading there teaches you quickly.

Leicester
Now a shop of our own in the Lanes, with the counter open to the public rather than to the trade. Same standards, different side of the table.
How we work
Everything in front of you
Items are tested and weighed at the counter while you watch, on calibrated scales. Nothing disappears into a back room, and the figure is explained before you are asked to decide anything.
Testing and valuation are free whether you sell or not. If you would rather take the figure away and think about it, or compare it with somebody else, that is a perfectly sensible thing to do with an inherited ring.
We ask every customer for photo identification when buying precious metals. It protects you and it protects us.
